What is the Division One Program?

To enable the players to play at their best skill possible, the Division One program was introduced by the Edmonton Minor Soccer Association over five years ago.

EMSA is proud that most of the zones within the City of Edmonton are running Division One programs in a majority of the age groups for the 1998 outdoor season. These teams compete throughout the season at a higher than normal level and then compete against Club Tier Two teams for the right to proceed to Provincial "B" Competition.

Players are chosen from throughout their zone. Community boudaries do not exist for the Division One program.

Edmonton Mill Woods Division One

The Mill Woods Soccer Association provides a Division One program at all age levels (U-11 to U-19) in both boys and girls. Registration for these programs (as well as others) are usually held at the same time in early March.

Edmonton North Division One

Edmonton North (east of 109 street and north of the river) provides a Division One program in both Boys and Girls for the U-11 to U-19 age groups. They also require experienced coaches, assistant coaches, managers and trainers in order to foster a sense of team spirit and fair play that will lead to the enjoyment of the game and new friendships for the participants.

Edmonton West Division One

Taking a more active role in the Division One program, the Edmonton West (north of the river, west of 109 street) is making a big effort this year to provide the program in the U-11 to U-19 age groups.

Edmonton Southwest Division One

Edmonton Southwest provide Division One programs from U-11 to U-15 in both Boys and Girls.
